Yep, I dressed up too!

Jack's teacher said we had to if we came to the class party, so I did! It made Jack happy and guess what? It made me happy too to see him happy. All the other moms put on a cowboy had and boots and called it a "costume." Nope, not here....I got a big old thank you from his teacher and of course from both my transformers;) The pic isn't that great since it's from my point and shoot, but I hope they'll appreciate later in life! Hope you had a spooktacular Halloween!

So, finally today, I got to meet sweet Sean Robert.
He is SO SO stinking SWEET!
Just a quick photo before I go to work.

And let's not forget PROUD big brother Ian, who told me "That's my Sean."

Congratulations, Megan! You have two beautiful boys!

Two Milestones in One Week!

Oh my boys just thrill me!
First do you know what this is?

YEP, Ant can ride without training wheels! YIPPEEE!!!!
Look at the concentration on his face! I love it!

Here he is....on his own, ya know, just as proof;) Can you tell I'm proud?

Next...We have a KINDERGARTNER!

Jack was off and running on Wednesday!
It was a rainy day and I am back on nights, so Frank was in charge of getting him off to the bus at 8:40. Apparently that meant they were going to leave for the bus at 7:00! WHAT? Nope, Frank got the time wrong, but it caused a little chaos on the first day....but it was none the less fun. It's funny what Jack picked out to go to school on the first day...a random t-shirt, Hawaiian shorts, gray socks, and blue gym shoes. OMG, I could have died, but I let it go since I didn't want to stress him. He also wanted everyone to wear our Disney ponchos to the bus stop with him! Whatever makes him happy!

The boys first official football game

I THINK they had fun, but I know they're glad it's over as am I!
Frank is the head coach of their team which can make things kind of hairy.....
As my parents said, this is just the beginning!

THEN, the boys started this....

LASTLY, in just 6, yep 6 short days, I will have one in FULL DAY KINDERGARTEN! I don't know who is more excited.

Oh yes, and just as he starts school, I go back to much for the normalcy!

Obama, Obama, Obama

Tisk, tisk, tisk. Shame on him. He should have known better. He's the President of the United States for goodness sakes! I didn't vote for him, but I didn't vote for McCain take that for what it's worth. President Obama openly stated Cambridge Police "acted stupidly" after arresting one of his friends. The problem I have, is President Obama admittedly did not know the facts of the case when he made the comment. It's gone on to cause racial stirs and yes, today, he invited the officer for a beer, but too late in my opinion. A man with such authority should really think before he speaks.

Here's the police report:

By the way, charges against Gates (Obama's friend) have been dropped.

Officers work too hard for this kind of crap! MAKES ME MAD...can u tell?

Civil War Days

Well, it was a day of fun and education....sort of! The boys were more interested in the horses and the guns than anything else, but as always, it was an adventure.

A friend of mine recommended going to Civil War Days to practice my photography skills, as the boys move too much, and he told me he'd help, though he shoots film and was confused by my set-up. He helped with shutter speeds, apeture, and blah, blah, blah. It was fun!

I did manage to squeeze in some pics like the rest of the world.
T minus 40 days til Jack's very 1st day of school! WOO HOO!

Ant is so tired of me taking pics....he thought he'd get me back!
(and yes.....he loves his blue camp t-shirt)

My boys!

The lame Batavia fireworks.....

OOH! Sparkler fun!

I did it! I survived...barely

I made it through the first two months of nights and now on Monday I get to start working days.....uggh!
Now, I know I was less than enthused to work nights, but I AM NOT A MORNING PERSON and I start at 6AM! See the reason for the UGGH?????
Anyway, finally got a chance to go boating last weekend which was the first time we had the boat out all season and man it was the best. Got there at 11am and pulled back in the drive at 10pm. Water was even hot.
Today took the boys outside to do some yard work and Anthony said to me, "It's too hot!" Huh? It's only 84 today;) So I snapped this of him as he was complaining....
Enjoy the weekend!

Well, sort of.
You see, I have greater plans for it, but for the time'll do.
And, yep, it's just good old chalkboard paint. Every one is doing it in blogland so I thought, why not? But I knew better because I want moulding around it and remember I didn't tell Frank? Well, he's doing a project of his own, so the moulding will get done

Empty Space

So, I've been on the hunt for SOMETHING to put on this wall for awhile now.......we've lived here three years. It's the longest we have lived anywhere as a family! I know that is very sad to say, but I'm happy that I don't feel the urge to move. Anyway, I have a project working in my head and the fun part is, Frank doesn't know it! So here's the before picture and since I work this weekend, it won't be done until Monday. But then, don't worry I am full steam ahead since I already have my supplies! Have a great weekend!

Sunday, May 31, 2009

We just got back from 7 long days in Disney World and though I just described it as long, I have to admit, I was sad to leave. Anthony was especially sad to leave as was Jack. Frank could care less. "It's too hot." That's what he said EVERY SINGLE DAY! Uh, duh, it's May in FLORIDA! While he was jumping in the pool, I was laying out working on my tan;)
So, we hit all the parks at least twice, though we were at Magic Kingdom a million times and how can you not. I'm glad to be home. My own bed, sofa, and rest of the stuff.........
The best part of the week was how excited the boys were when they saw Mickey! They literally squeezed Mickey so hard and grinned from ear to ear. It was so cute! Here's some pics!

Yes, it's beautiful here and I'm lovin it, but we leave in a couple of days for Disney and if you haven't guessed, it hasn't stopped raining there, nor does it plan on stopping any time soon! Man am I bummed, but we'll make the best of it! Here's photos from our family vacation last year to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee that we planned the week prior to leaving. I thought it would be a great idea to go white water rafting however, after getting there, we found out there was a drought, so no rafting. HMMH, seems to be a common theme here..........

Man am I good!

So, I've been the brunt of jokes for the past, oh, two years at least as my old boss and co-workers thought it was fun to poke fun, but now with my new shift, WATCH OUT! I am on fire! These new guys are just TOO easy. Take for example what happened the other night. I'm sittin, minding my own business mind you, writing a report, when a newer guy comes up to me and the first thing out of his mouth is, "Jen, I was downstairs eating lunch and watching Half Baked." Uh, too easy.....he continues...."I started to make popcorn when the microwave made this funny sound (sound effects included)." I egg him on and ask him if his popcorn actually popped and he told me he did not eat it though it popped.
Here's the kicker, with a straight face, I asked him why he thought it would be a good idea to pop popcorn or ANYTHING for that matter when there was a piece of aluminum foil hanging from the microwave? Lost, he asked me, "Who would put aluminum foil in a microwave?" DUH, I did! I told him I knew what time he ate dinner and I thought it would be funny and at this point he is now laughing as am I because I reminded him he started his story with "I was watching Half Baked." It gets better though, because obviously I didn't put aluminum foil in the microwave, but soon after another newer gal came in and wanted to microwave her dinner and was absolutely beside herself that she could not even though we have TWO OTHER MICROWAVES! And then, man was she PO'D that I put aluminum foil in the microwave. I had even texted both my bosses about the situation so they were in on it just in case! HA!
The two then went to the microwave and dismantled it and removed the conductor plate and brought it to me after they could not locate any aluminum foil. The gig was kinda up.....but then I told them I wasn't that silly to put aluminum foil in a microwave! DUH! I put POP-ROCKS! They bought that too! They were again mad, mad mad! They told me I had to send a message to the chief's secretary asking for a new microwave as I was the one who broke it! Uh, ok, done. She and I are in good graces. I sent the email and she got one the following day. Now how's that for some good ol' fashion fun!

On another note, Sam, check this out...............Jack and Ant are ready for you!

Did you here she's on lockdown?

Uh what??? I just got back from Verizon after being told yesterday my phone was junk and I needed a replacement. I sent a text to my family telling them I was up and running again, and I get a text back from my dad, saying "You're mom is on lockdown." OK, I'M AWAKE NOW! WHAT DID YOU SAY??? Now, mind you, if there is EVER a problem, lockdown is where YOU and YOUR CHILDREN want to be. I know that is easier said than done, but if you know me, TRUST ME! Ok, so why was her company on lockdown? ***If you're not PRO-POLICE STOP READING!*****

A suspect in as many as 30 armed robberies was shot and killed by police at a Marathon gas station in Harwood Heights this morning as Chicago officers and FBI agents tried to catch him in the act, authorities said.

A Chicago police detective and an FBI agent were staking out the gas station because it matched a pattern of targets robbed over the last two months in the city and in the north and northwest suburbs. The detective shot and killed the gun-toting man as he came out of the station that he had just hit, said Chicago Police Chief of Detectives Tom Byrne.

The shooting took place a little before 7 a.m. outside the gas station at Montrose Avenue and Forest Preserve Drive, on Chicago's border with Harwood Heights.

As the suspect exited with a gun in one hand and cash in the other, they confronted him and told him to drop his weapon, said FBI spokesman Ross Rice.

"He was ordered to drop the weapon and surrender," Rice said. "He did not immediately comply with that order."

The detective then opened fire, shooting the man, authorities said.

Although authorities originally had thought the robber might be working with a getaway driver and searched the area for a second suspect, that search was called off about 9 a.m., Byrne said.

Obviously her office is close. My mom is fine. She's well versed in police lingo;)

Back on the road

May 4th.....and here it's been 8 long years behind a desk, but now I'm back on the road. And, I'm working nights....UGGH! The boys were very funny when they found out I was working "while they would be sleeping" as they said "why would you do THAT?" if I had a choice! So, here' the crazy thing. Right now I'm actually trying to stay awake so I can sleep during the DAY tomorrow so I can be awake tomorrow night at work. This is going to stink, I can just feel it in my fingertips as I type. Just don't tell the boys.......I told them it was no big deal;)

On a happy happy note, the boys and I had a great day today on our last normal day together. Jack was my super helper in planting and Anthony is just a super sweety and told me I looked beautiful when I tried on a dress I didn't buy.

And, for those of you that have little ones.......the "in case of emergency only door/fire exit door" at stores REALLY does sound an alarm. Just ask Jack and the Wal-Mart team that did not find it funny when he pushed on it today. Holy moly, those things are LOUD, hence the reason THEY ARE ONLY TO BE USED IN AN EMERGENCY. I do know this, my boys will NEVER EVER push one again;)

T minus 20 for Disney. Thank goodness!

Look at the moment I caught

I was taking a nap with Ant and awoke looking everywhere for Frank and Jack. Then I noticed their fishing poles were gone. I walked around to the back of our house and saw the two of them just talking and casting away without a care in the world. I even saw Jack catch "something." I love the look on Jack's face. He's just so happy. They were in heaven and didn't even know I was there, thanks to my super duper long lens. Have a great week!
