DISNEY 2009

We just got back from 7 long days in Disney World and though I just described it as long, I have to admit, I was sad to leave. Anthony was especially sad to leave as was Jack. Frank could care less. "It's too hot." That's what he said EVERY SINGLE DAY! Uh, duh, it's May in FLORIDA! While he was jumping in the pool, I was laying out working on my tan;)
So, we hit all the parks at least twice, though we were at Magic Kingdom a million times and how can you not. I'm glad to be home. My own bed, sofa, and rest of the stuff.........
The best part of the week was how excited the boys were when they saw Mickey! They literally squeezed Mickey so hard and grinned from ear to ear. It was so cute! Here's some pics!

RAIN, RAIN, GO AWAY!

Yes, it's beautiful here and I'm lovin it, but we leave in a couple of days for Disney and if you haven't guessed, it hasn't stopped raining there, nor does it plan on stopping any time soon! Man am I bummed, but we'll make the best of it! Here's photos from our family vacation last year to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee that we planned the week prior to leaving. I thought it would be a great idea to go white water rafting however, after getting there, we found out there was a drought, so no rafting. HMMH, seems to be a common theme here..........

Man am I good!

So, I've been the brunt of jokes for the past, oh, two years at least as my old boss and co-workers thought it was fun to poke fun, but now with my new shift, WATCH OUT! I am on fire! These new guys are just TOO easy. Take for example what happened the other night. I'm sittin, minding my own business mind you, writing a report, when a newer guy comes up to me and the first thing out of his mouth is, "Jen, I was downstairs eating lunch and watching Half Baked." Uh, too easy.....he continues...."I started to make popcorn when the microwave made this funny sound (sound effects included)." I egg him on and ask him if his popcorn actually popped and he told me he did not eat it though it popped.
Here's the kicker, with a straight face, I asked him why he thought it would be a good idea to pop popcorn or ANYTHING for that matter when there was a piece of aluminum foil hanging from the microwave? Lost, he asked me, "Who would put aluminum foil in a microwave?" DUH, I did! I told him I knew what time he ate dinner and I thought it would be funny and at this point he is now laughing as am I because I reminded him he started his story with "I was watching Half Baked." It gets better though, because obviously I didn't put aluminum foil in the microwave, but soon after another newer gal came in and wanted to microwave her dinner and was absolutely beside herself that she could not even though we have TWO OTHER MICROWAVES! And then, man was she PO'D that I put aluminum foil in the microwave. I had even texted both my bosses about the situation so they were in on it just in case! HA!
The two then went to the microwave and dismantled it and removed the conductor plate and brought it to me after they could not locate any aluminum foil. The gig was kinda up.....but then I told them I wasn't that silly to put aluminum foil in a microwave! DUH! I put POP-ROCKS! They bought that too! They were again mad, mad mad! They told me I had to send a message to the chief's secretary asking for a new microwave as I was the one who broke it! Uh, ok, done. She and I are in good graces. I sent the email and she got one the following day. Now how's that for some good ol' fashion fun!

On another note, Sam, check this out...............Jack and Ant are ready for you!

Did you here she's on lockdown?

Uh what??? I just got back from Verizon after being told yesterday my phone was junk and I needed a replacement. I sent a text to my family telling them I was up and running again, and I get a text back from my dad, saying "You're mom is on lockdown." OK, I'M AWAKE NOW! WHAT DID YOU SAY??? Now, mind you, if there is EVER a problem, lockdown is where YOU and YOUR CHILDREN want to be. I know that is easier said than done, but if you know me, TRUST ME! Ok, so why was her company on lockdown? ***If you're not PRO-POLICE STOP READING!*****

A suspect in as many as 30 armed robberies was shot and killed by police at a Marathon gas station in Harwood Heights this morning as Chicago officers and FBI agents tried to catch him in the act, authorities said.

A Chicago police detective and an FBI agent were staking out the gas station because it matched a pattern of targets robbed over the last two months in the city and in the north and northwest suburbs. The detective shot and killed the gun-toting man as he came out of the station that he had just hit, said Chicago Police Chief of Detectives Tom Byrne.

The shooting took place a little before 7 a.m. outside the gas station at Montrose Avenue and Forest Preserve Drive, on Chicago's border with Harwood Heights.

As the suspect exited with a gun in one hand and cash in the other, they confronted him and told him to drop his weapon, said FBI spokesman Ross Rice.

"He was ordered to drop the weapon and surrender," Rice said. "He did not immediately comply with that order."

The detective then opened fire, shooting the man, authorities said.

Although authorities originally had thought the robber might be working with a getaway driver and searched the area for a second suspect, that search was called off about 9 a.m., Byrne said.

Obviously her office is close. My mom is fine. She's well versed in police lingo;)

Back on the road

May 4th.....and here it's been 8 long years behind a desk, but now I'm back on the road. And, I'm working nights....UGGH! The boys were very funny when they found out I was working "while they would be sleeping" as they said "why would you do THAT?" HMMM....as if I had a choice! So, here' the crazy thing. Right now I'm actually trying to stay awake so I can sleep during the DAY tomorrow so I can be awake tomorrow night at work. This is going to stink, I can just feel it in my fingertips as I type. Just don't tell the boys.......I told them it was no big deal;)

On a happy happy note, the boys and I had a great day today on our last normal day together. Jack was my super helper in planting and Anthony is just a super sweety and told me I looked beautiful when I tried on a dress I didn't buy.

And, for those of you that have little ones.......the "in case of emergency only door/fire exit door" at stores REALLY does sound an alarm. Just ask Jack and the Wal-Mart team that did not find it funny when he pushed on it today. Holy moly, those things are LOUD, hence the reason THEY ARE ONLY TO BE USED IN AN EMERGENCY. I do know this, my boys will NEVER EVER push one again;)

T minus 20 for Disney. Thank goodness!
