March 22

Let me just say, I dread this date!
Four years ago, I argued with doctors in NICU to release Ant from the hospital.
One year ago, a 16 year old girl ran a stop sign and totalled my suburban while I was driving my boys on nice Saturday afternoon. So today, I don't feel too inclined to do much besides staying close to home.
On a happier note, Ant turned 4 on the 19th and we celebrated in true fashion with a Spongebob party! He is such a cutie! Lots of pizza and cake! It was such fun! I'm so lucky to have him in my life! Frank and I were told Anthony was a girl, however, I didn't believe it. In fact, I didn't have a girl's name picked out. I knew we would be blessed with another boy! Anthony is definitely my gentle soul and everyone that meets him loves his angelic smile. It's that smile that every morning, as he walks into my room half dazed, that I say "good morning, sunshine!"

Chaos

So, I've been a little busy. Last week, two knuckleheads ALLEGEDLY stole a car, broke into a house, stole some guns and rare coins and then crashed that stolen car into a tree and took off running and then attempted to carjack a couple! What did that mean for me? UGH! After shutting down a large portion of roads and with the help of many others, it meant long interviews of their ALLEGED involvement and a LOT of paperwork! My boys always know I'm busy because Frank ends up picking them up from school and in the last five years, that has only happened a handful of times, so the boys always think it is super cool! Mom, on the other, is usually super tired ;)
This week, I'm busy planning Ant's birthday party for his friends. Can you believe he'll be four in less than a week? Time flies, but I've loved every minute of my crazy life! There are days when I don't know if I am coming or going, who is picking up the kids from school, what we're having for dinner, how the kids are getting to school, who I can call at 1pm on a Saturday when Frank is working and I get called in, but it has always worked out. The "chaos" that surrounds our life, works for us, and our kids don't know any different. I like it like that.

THIS is kindergarten?

Jack had his "Kindergarten Preview" on Wednesday and needless to say it did not go well for him. He was in a group of 22 other children and the teacher asked them to draw themselves, interact in a song, listen to her while she read a story, and then asked them to cut a piece of paper so they could eat a snack. Well, the only thing Jack participated in was...........you guessed it was cutting the piece of paper and it merely to get to the snack! He was not impressed by his "preview" of Kindergarten at all! I was so upset, but then later in the week, Frank and I talked to him and asked him why he didn't participate and he basically told us he's tired of singing and drawing. He's been in preschool for two years and pre-k for a year (don't ask what the difference is) and he was ready to LEARN! I felt horrible because it was MY FAULT! I had built up school to be this really cool place where you learned addition and reading and then they asked him to DANCE! Oh well come August, he'll be excited and have lots of fun!
Last night Frank and I had another night out, but this time we went out with a couple of the guys Frank play football with in college. I met them and their lovely wives, but it was interesting as they reverted back to drinking as they did when they played football! And, the football stories came out too. Good thing I didn't meet Frank during college, because by the sounds of it, he wouldn't have been my type;)
